English to French

English to French Translation

French splits into two very different jobs for Pakistani applicants. France requires a traducteur assermenté sworn before a Cour d'appel, which no Pakistani translator can be. Quebec immigration is more often satisfied by a certified translation with a declaration, which we can provide.

What is English to French translation?

English to French translation from Pakistan serves two destinations with different rules. France generally requires a traducteur assermenté sworn before a Cour d'appel, which no Pakistani translator can be. Quebec immigration more often accepts a certified translation with a translator's declaration. Confirm which applies before ordering. From Rs. 2,500 through a vetted collaborator.

Two destinations, two different rules

French is not one job. For a Pakistani applicant it splits cleanly:

France operates a sworn translator system. A traducteur assermenté, listed as an expert traducteur by a Cour d’appel, holds a status granted inside the French system. No Pakistani translator holds it. Where a French consulate or authority requires a sworn translation, ours will not be accepted, however well done.

Quebec and Canada more often accept a certified translation with the translator’s signed declaration. That we can provide. Some Canadian processes ask specifically for a translator certified by a provincial order such as OTTIAQ — again outside what we can offer, and again something we will tell you before you pay.

Settle which one applies before ordering. One email to the consulate or your immigration consultant does it. Forward us the reply.

Do you need French at all?

Worth asking, because a lot of people buy it unnecessarily.

Federal Canadian immigration accepts English throughout. French matters for Quebec-specific streams and for applicants claiming French-language points. If your documents are already in English and your file is federal, you may need no translation at all.

We would rather tell you that than take the order. See translating DMCs and transcripts for UK and Canadian universities for what Canadian institutions actually ask for, which is more often a credential assessment than a translation.

Where translation sits

For France: originals → HEC or IBCCMOFA → French consulate legalisation where required → translation, by a sworn translator if the checklist says so.

For Canada: credential assessment where required, then certified translation of anything not already in English or French.

Translation is late in the French sequence for the usual reason — attestation stamps go on the original, so a translation made earlier will not show them.

How we handle this pair

French runs through a vetted collaborator, not in house. From Rs. 2,500, with legal and financial documents quoted individually. Turnaround depends partly on the collaborator, so ask before planning around urgent delivery.

Urdu documents are routed through English rather than translated directly into French. We say so openly; confirm it if your checklist requires a direct translation.

English to Italian and English to German have the same sworn-translator problem. To read a certification requirement properly, see what “certified translation” means to different authorities.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a traducteur assermenté and can you be one?

A translator sworn before a French Cour d'appel and listed as an expert traducteur. That status is granted within the French system, so no Pakistani translator holds it, ourselves included. Where a French consulate or authority requires it, you need a translator in France and we will tell you so rather than take the order.

Is Quebec different from France?

Usually yes, and it matters. Quebec immigration and many Canadian processes accept a certified translation accompanied by the translator's declaration, rather than requiring a French sworn translator. Requirements differ by programme and change, so read your own checklist. If it asks for a translation by a member of a Canadian provincial order such as OTTIAQ, that is again outside what we can provide.

Do Canadian immigration files need French or English?

English is accepted across federal Canadian immigration. French matters for Quebec-specific streams and for anyone claiming French-language points. If your file is federal and in English already, you may need no translation at all, and we will say so rather than sell you one.

Does my degree need attestation before French translation?

For France, usually yes, and before translation. HEC then MOFA happen on the original, with French consulate legalisation where required. Translating first means the stamps are missing from the translation. Canada more often wants a credential assessment, which is a different service from a different body.

What does English to French translation cost?

From Rs. 2,500, higher than our in-house pairs because French runs through a vetted collaborator. Legal and financial documents are quoted individually. Build in more time than for an in-house pair.
