The UAE has no sworn translator register, so a certified Arabic translation is generally acceptable and Arabic is a pair we handle in house. Ask your sponsor or typing centre whether they want the translation done here or there, because the answer varies and paying twice is easy.
The sequence
- Sponsor or employer initiates the visa on the UAE side
- Assemble originals - degree, transcripts, police character certificate, medical, passport, and marriage and birth documents for family visas
- HEC for university documents or IBCC for matric and intermediate
- MOFA attestation, then UAE Embassy attestation in Islamabad
- Confirm with the sponsor or typing centre whether Arabic translation happens in Pakistan or the UAE
- Attestation by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs after arrival, where required

The question that saves the most money
Should the translation be done in Pakistan or in the UAE?
Both happen. Many UAE submissions are finalised by a typing centre there, which handles the Arabic and the submission — in which case a translation bought here is duplicated work. Other sponsors want documents arriving already translated.
Ask your sponsor or the typing centre before ordering. This one question is worth more than anything else on this page.
The step after arrival
Frequently overlooked in planning.
Documents attested in Pakistan — MOFA, then UAE Embassy Islamabad — are often also attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs after arrival.
That is a separate step from the embassy attestation done here, handled or advised on by your sponsor or agent. We cannot do it from Pakistan, and it is worth knowing it exists so the timeline is not a surprise.

No sworn translator problem
The UAE operates no sworn translator register. A certified Arabic translation with a statement of accuracy is generally acceptable.

Family visas: consistency across the set
A family visa adds the Nikah Nama, the NADRA marriage certificate, birth certificates for accompanying children, and often the FRC to prove the relationship to the sponsor.
Names have to be consistent across all of them and match the passports. That is the commonest reason a UAE family file is questioned, and it is free to prevent: send the whole set together so one spelling is applied throughout.
